UPS RIELLO AROS - TRANSFER SYSTEM

Multi Switch

Current Range: 16 A
1:1

Extreme service continuity

Multi-Switch improves electrical supply continuity. The principle of operation guarantees a higher reliability level than that achieved using a single UPS (on-line with automatic bypass) or several UPS in parallel.
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The Multi-Switch provides electrical distribution and remote management for up to eight network users, powered from either one or two direct mains supplies or UPS or a combination of both.
Multi-Switch can connect each user (up to eight, each with a maximum power demand not greater than 3A), to either of the two power sources (A and B). Load demand is shown on the LCD. See “principle of operation” diagram.
PROTECTION AGAINST POWER SUPPLY FAILURES
If one of the two power sources fails or falls outside specification, Multi-Switch will transfer the connected loads to the second power source (switching is instantaneous even if the two sources are in phase).
PROTECTION AGAINST FAULTS WITH THE LOAD
If a fault occurs with one of the loads (for example due to a short-circuit or overload), Multi-Switch will disconnect the load to prevent disruption to the others.
Multi-Switch protects sensitive installations from both power and hardware faults.

Multi Switch ATS provides installations with power supply continuity. Its operating principle ensures higher reliability than a single UPS , (with or without its own internal bypass).

Master Switch Single Phase

Current Range: 32 - 120 A

Absolute protection for the users.

Master Switch Single-phase (MMS ) is part of the Master Switch range and offers solutions suitable for protecting single-phase loads with different power ratings. MM S is available in three sizes - 32, 63 and 120 A - and is therefore able to satisfy various requirements for the protection of singlephase loads.

Master Switch Three-phase

Current Range: 100 - 600 A
3:3

100-600 A

MASTER SWITCH is a static transfer switch commonly used within power continuity applications to improve resilience. The system can be used in conjunction with UPS or as separate standalone devices.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE
MASTER SWITCH adds a source of redundancy to a critical installation and automatically transfers the connected load between two separate AC power sources. The transfer can be automatic when an input power supply fails outside set tolerances or be manually forced using the front panel keypad or remotely via a communications network.

PROTECTION AGAINST POWER FAILURES
In the event that one of the two power sources does not return to the accepted tolerance values, the MASTER SWITCH will transfer the other loads over to the second power source (this happens instantly if the two sources are in phase).

PROTECTION AGAINST ENVIRONMENTAL DISTURBANCES
Overloads and load faults

In the event of an overload or fault condition, the internal protection system within the STS device can be configured to disconnect power at defined levels. In the extreme situation of a downstream short circuit MASTER SWITCH can disconnect the load to prevent disruption.

Centralised system

The centralised by-pass is an alternative to the distributed by-pass. Technically the two solutions fulfil the same purpose, i.e. to guarantee power continuity, but have different architectures.
Whilst it is true that distributed bypass solutions are the most common due to their flexibility of use and low initial cost, it is also true that in the medium/large data centre market centralised bypass solutions are preferable in terms of technical performance, footprint and sometimes cost, above all in large installations where the number and type of protections as well as system wiring have an impact.
The data centre and data-storage market in general is destined for large growth (in terms of percentages and volumes). It is therefore important to respond to the various requirements with flexible solutions that are able to adapt to the growing demands of the market in terms of the levels of power and performance required.
